Carolyn Shinn, regional director of clinical services for National Healing Corporation, oversees clinical services at several National Healing Wound Centers in various parts of the country.
Shinn has over 20 years of experience in clinical healthcare. Prior to her employment with NHC, she worked at Swedish Covenant Hospital Wound Care Center as a clinical nurse manager where she was chairman of the Skin and Wound Care Committee. She was also employed as the clinical coordinator at the Illinois Eye Center.
Shinn has served on the boards of several charitable organizations including the Junior League of Peoria and the March of Dimes. She is currently involved with Windy City Women’s Charities and Easter Seals of Metropolitan Chicago. She was awarded the “Forty Leaders Under Forty” designation in 2001 for her community involvement and leadership in the workplace.
Shinn received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Ill. She is on the faculty of the National Healing Institute, National Healing’s comprehensive clinical training course and is an instructor for the Clinical Nurse Manager Leadership Course. She is a Certified Wound Specialist and a Diplomat of the American Academy of Wound Management.
