Dr. Robert Kirsner leads the national medical advisory board for National Healing Corporation and serves as a resource to the medical staff of the company's Wound Healing Centers throughout the U.S.
Kirsner is director of the Wound C.U.R.E Center at Cedars Medical Center in Miami. He also serves as professor and vice chairman of the Department of Dermatology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Certified by the American Board of Dermatology, Kirsner is a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Academy of Wound Management.Ê
A board member Wound Healing Society, Kirsner is also current President of the Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. He is a founding member and past president of the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care, and he co-directs the largest multi-disciplinary wound care meeting in the United States - the Symposium for Advanced Wound Care.
Kirsner has been the principal investigator in studies that received grants from National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute, American Cancer Society and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, among others. The co-editor of a recently released comprehensive book, Wound Healing, he has authored more than 200 peer reviewed articles, including articles in the New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet and Annals of Internal Medicine. Kirsner is on the editorial board of Wounds, Ostomy/Wound Management, Dermatologic Surgery and Skin and Aging. He also serves as a reviewer for most major national and international wound and dermatology journals.
After receiving his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Texas A & M University, Kirsner earned his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and his doctorate degree from the school's department of epidemiology and public health.
