National Healing Corporation

Dr. Jack Lighton was named to the national medical advisory board for National Healing Corporation in February 2004 and serves as a resource to the medical staff of the company's National Healing Wound Centers throughout the U.S.

Lighton is an experienced vascular surgeon and certified wound care specialist. He was affiliated with Mount Clemens General Hospital in Mount Clemens, Mich., for over 30 years where he served in various capacities including chief of staff, chairman of the surgery department, chief of vascular surgery, and was active in the teaching program where he trained medical students, interns, and residents. He also treated patients at the wound care center at JFK Hospital in Atlantis, Fla.. He is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery in general and vascular surgery, a diplomat of the American Academy of Wound Management. He is also a ÊFellow in the College of Certified Wound Specialists, a Fellow in the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, and a member of the Wound Healing Society.

He lectures extensively in the areas of vascular disease, wound healing, pressure ulcers, and limb salvage. Lighton's teaching appointments include Associate Clinical professor of Surgery at ÊMichigan State University, Mount Clemens General Hospital, ÊLighton serves as a moderator of the wound healing portion of the NHI monthly training Êcourse held at Ohio State University. He has provided primary training in wound care for over one thousand wound care personnel.

Lighton graduated from Wayne State University in 1963 and graduated Deans list of Honor graduates, -magna cum laude from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1967. He completed his residency and internship at Mount Clemens General Hospital and a vascular surgery fellowship at St. John Hospital in Detroit. Lighton is licensed in Michigan and Florida.
