Wound Healing Center at Doctors Hospital Of Stark County Honored for Outstanding Care

For the second consecutive year, National Healing Corporation (NHC), which accounts for 20 percent of managed and outsourced wound healing centers nationwide, has recognized the Wound Healing Center at Doctors Hospital of Stark County in Massillon, Ohio as one of its best.

The center received the company's "Best Overall Clinical Indicators Award" for achieving exceptional results in eight of the nine areas studied. The achievement resulted from the utilization of state-of-the-art therapies including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, bio-engineered tissue substitutes and vacuum-assisted closure.

NHC Senior Vice President of Clinical Services Katherine J. Rowland presented the award saying, "A number of underlying conditions such as diabetes, vascular disease and radiation exposure contribute to chronic wounds making each one unique. The winners of the annual NHC awards are based on data from clinical measures reported from its centers. Last year, the Wound Healing Center at Doctors Hospital was recognized with the "Pacesetter Award" for increasing performance and making a significant difference in its patients' lives.
